Muzaffarabad:(Parliament Times) Recovery system of electricity department in capital was accelerated.Cable operators receiving millions of rupees from the public, are proved defaulters of electricity bills.
According to details, the relay systems(nodes) of cables installed on poles of electricity department were used on electricity.
Department charges them Rs 10 to Rs 300 as per location and voltage of devices, the electricity bill consumed on these nodes was sent to cable operators. The electricity given to the devices installed on the poles was cut off due to which the cable is off across the city.
Local cable operators said that the department charged the bill under PEMRA rules, and their rules, as per judgement of High court of Azad Kashmir are not applicable in Azad Kashmir.While on the other hand the spokesperson of the electricity department said that more than 10 million rupees to local cable operators and Internet service providers were outstanding.Two well known cable networks, ITV cable network and Apex World are defaulters of 4 and 5 millions respectively.Spokesperson said that the details of the bill have been sent to the cable operators from the department, “cable operators avoids to pay the bills on electricity provided to the devices.” Spokesperson added.He further said that electricity will be restored to the devices after the payment of bills.Keeping in view, electricity department charges Rs 10 per month on the devices installed on electrical polls by the cable operators, and the bill has exceeded the amount of Rs 1 crore due to non-payments of their bills for long.
