Islamabad: Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has taken over charge as chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
According to media reports, Justice Javed Iqbal soon after assumption of his office as Chairman NAB met with senior officials of NAB including Director General Operations, Director Generals and officers of prosecution wing.
Javed Iqbal while assigning his first task to NAB officials directed them to provide him with all record of previous reference’s, inquires and progresses till yet.
Later Chief of NAB reached Parliament house to participate in Human Rights Committee meeting.
Talking to media men there he said “ I have just taken over charge of office of chairman NAB while I have taken no briefing so far. I will take briefing within a day or so and start my work.’
He said he would take briefing within one to two days and would start his work.
He said action would be initiated indiscriminately in terms of cases of all political parties.
Replying to a question about chairmanship of Missing persons judicial commission he said currently he is not relinquishing this office as commission’s report is its final phase and he would leave the chairmanship of this commission after the report is taken to its logical conclusion.
Replying to another query about Osama Bin Laden commission he said he had handed over outcome of this commission to authorities and now responsibility rests with them to work on it.
