Islamabad: 52nd Defence of Pakistan Day will be observed throughout the country with traditional enthusiasm and gaiety.
In this connection a variety of functions will be arranged to commemorate the successful defence of the country in 1965 war. On this day the nation will also renew its pledge to defend the security and independence of the beloved country at any cost.
The day will dawn with Quran Khawani for martyrs at all mosques, units of Pak army, installations of navy and bases of air force with special prayers for the security and stability of the nation and the country. Floral wreaths will be placed at the graves of martyrs. Hilal-e-Istiqlal will be unfurled in Lahore, Sargodha and Sialkot.
In reference to Pakistan Day daily newspapers will publish special supplements and exhibitions of armaments will be arranged in various cities of the country.
In commemoration of the Day PTV and private TV channels will telecast special programmes.
On 6 September 1965 the Pakistan brave army and nation crushed the nefarious designs of India.
