rinagar, Complete shutdown was observed, today, against Indian plans to abrogate Article 35A of Indian Constitution to convert Muslim majority of the territory into minority.According to KMS, call for the strike was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik and supported by traders. It was also aimed at condemning the continued killing of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian forces and the arrest of Hurriyat leaders by Delhi-based National Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate.All shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while traffic was off the road. The puppet authorities deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength across the Kashmir Valley to prevent people from staging anti-India demonstration. The entire Hurriyat leadership has been put under house arrest or detention. The authorities also suspended train services in the Valley.Meanwhile, the University of Kashmir (KU) and Board of School Education (BOSE) had postponed all the examinations scheduled to be held today.
