RAWALPINDI: Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, chairman Awami Muslim League (AML) has received Rs 10 billion defamation notice from Hanif Abbasi, a PML-N leader and former MNA from Rawalpindi.

Sources said that Hanif Abbasi has sent defamation notice to Sheikh Rashid for causing damage to his reputation and character by leveling false allegation of drug peddling.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has received notice in Lal Haveli in person. AML leader said he would attend the court on August 3 and prove Hanif Abbasi a drug peddler. “ What I have said about Hanif is not wrong. I stand by my accusation I have leveled against Hanif Abbasi that he is drug peddler.

The court while hearing Hanif Abbasi petition has issued notice to Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and summoned him on August 3.
