ISLAMABAD : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s ineligibility case was heard by the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Tuesday (today) in which Imran’s counsel Naeem Bukhari said his client did not have any source of income besides professional cricket, and submitted income tax returns as well.

Naeem Bukhari added that Imran also earned money through ads and news articles. Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar said to Naeem Bukhari that there is difference between his previous and current statement, and adjourned the hearing till July 31 by directing Bukhari to submit any further documents if he wishes to.

Furthermore, PTI chief’s friend Rashid Khan also appeared before the apex court and told that the amount was transferred to his account by Jemima. Justice Faisal Arab remarked that there is no record of receiving one hundred thousand dollars from Jemima in January, 2003.

The honorable judge said the amount was transferred in May, 2003 after the payments of Bani Gala property were made. The remittances received from Jemima are not clear, he commented.

After the hearing, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry talked to the media and said Imran Khan’s money trail has been submitted in SC, and the arguments of Naeem Bukhari are completed. He told that the total matter revolves around four crore and 57 lac rupees.

Fawad Chaudhry said Imran was selected in national cricket team in 1971, and he bought the apartment in 1983. Bani Gala property was purchased after selling the flat, he added.

PTI leader further said that the only fault of PTI chairman is that he fought Panama case against Sharif family, and that is why he is now being inquired even about the income of $2500.

Fawad said it would be worth watching how many leaders can submit the details of their kitchen expenditures in the apex court. He continued that Imran Khan has given the complete money trail. A man does not need any Qatari letter when he has earned all his money honestly, he remarked.
