Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Senior Journalist, Chief Editor Daily Parliament Times and Deputy Secretary General AKNS, Javed Iqbal Chudhary had a narrow escape when he was attacked by dozens of gun-wielding goons at his native village Upper Serari Darikot on Sunday.

The murderous attack on the AKNS Deputy General Secretary by scores of gun-wielding goons of a neighbouring village was launched at a time when he [Jave Iqbal Chudhary] along with other notables of the area was sitting in a JIRGA. The attackers, who were armed to the teeth resorted to aerial firing, thrashed the senior journalist and hurled severe life threats against him and his family. However, people present on the occasion came to his rescue and saved him from the clutches of assailants.

Pertinently, the AKNS Deputy Secretary General and his family have been receiving serious life threats at the hands of attackers. The barrage of threats coming from attackers has put the entire family at a great risk and the family feels themselves in a grave danger.

Meanwhile, the president of AKNS Amer Mehboob, members of AKNS and Kashmir Journalist Forum while condemning the murderous attack on the senior journalist have demanded the President, Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and chief justice to take effective notice of the horible incident. They also demanded the higher authorities to take a stern action against the perpetrators involved in this heinous crime.

The AKNS chief said, “Since the family feels themselves in grave danger, it is incumbent upon the authorities at the helm of affairs to take immediate action against the criminals to ensure security and safety of Javed Iqbal and his family”.
