Chelsea : Chelsea have been handed a major transfer boost in the race for Alvaro Morata – by Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United had been rumoured to be interested in the Real Madrid striker along with the Blues, despite only just signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton for massive money.
Morata looks to be edging closer to the exit door this summer despite only re-joining the La Liga giants last summer.
However, Jose Mourinho has essentially ruled out a United move for Alvaro Morata in this transfer window – despite admitting that he had a strong interest in the striker.
“It is a shame,” Mourinho said.
“He is a player who made it to the first team with me and I have a special liking for. I enjoyed watching his evolution in Juventus and Madrid.
“But we have not reached an agreement with his club and I don’t think he can end with us.”
Chelsea are known to be interested in brining a striker to the club with Diego Costa set to move on in this transfer window.
Morata is just one of the top names linked so far – with Andrea Belotti and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also rumoured.
