Islamabad:(Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Friday administered oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of the All Kashmir News Papers Society.

The oath-taking ceremony held at Kashmir House Islamabad was attended by vice chairman AJK press foundation Chudhary Amjad, President Center Union of Journalists Zafeer Baba, and Muzaffarabad Press Club President Suhail Mughal, Sardar Zulfiqar, Ibrar Hyder whereas senior journalist from Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Rawlakot were present on the occasion.

The PM on the occasion felicitated the elected office-bearers of AKNS including President, Amer Mehboob, VP Shair Baz Mounir, General Secretary, Sarfaraz Khwaja, Deputy General Secretary Javed Iqbal Chudhary, Sardar Imtiaz, Sajjad Ahmed Shah, Sardar Abdul Hameed, Ch. Khalid, Sardar Zahid Tabassum, Azra Salib and others

Speaking on the occasion Khan said that media has been playing vital role in the development of the society as it is considered the fourth pillar of the state because of its importance. He however maintained that it was unfortunate that Pakistan media was not giving due coverage to Kashmir issue.

He also announced a grant of 25 Lakh rupees for AKNS. He vowed to address all the issues of AKNS by the end of December. He assured the AKNS office bearers that 1 percent quota allocated for the media houses would be increased accordingly. He said that for AKNS building a plot will be provided in Muzaffarabad.

Speaking on the occasion the AKNS president Amer Mehbood said that Press Information Department’s step motherly treatment towards Newspapers published from the AJK was highly disgusting. He said that the AKNS would launch a massive protest campaign if the PID did not change its attitude
