Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan while denouncing in strong terms the use of pellet guns and live ammunition against peaceful protestors by Indian occupation forces has termed it as a flagrant violation of international law.
Talking to the various delegations here on Wednesday the AJK premier said that the Hurriyat leadership was imprisoned or placed under house arrest. He said that Indian occupation forces were burning and shutting down schools resulting in children being denied their basic right to education. The imposition of almost constant curfew in Occupied Kashmir, Prime Minister said, had made the lives of innocent people miserable.
“Their situation was further aggravated by the Indian government deliberately creating a shortage of basic amenities, including food for children, and medicines,†he said.
He appreciated the strong support of Pakistan for protection of human rights and urged its diplomatic missions to sensitize the international community about the gross Indian atrocities in Kashmir and the need for expedited resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in line with the relevant UNSC resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
He said that the Kashmir issue was a long outstanding conflict and needed a political solution, taking into account the UN Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people, along both sides of the Line of Control (LoC).
Meanwhile a delegation of teachers of Quran called on Prime Minister and demanded for early resolution of their issues. The Prime Minister assured the teachers’ delegation that resolving the issues of the teachers was government’s responsibility and government will fulfill its obligations.
