Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that India’s insensitivity is the sole reason for unabated bloodshed in the territory as Indian forces’ personnel are mercilessly killing the Kashmiri youth on one pretext or the other.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian authorities wanted to create appalling situation in occupied Kashmir and they had set forth their strategy and were looking for excuses to create 90s like situation in Kashmir to justify the use of lethal weapons against unarmed and innocent youth. This arrogance, haughtiness and persistent denial can’t hold water for long and India must come to terms with the writing on the wall, he said.

The APHC Chairman pointed out that Kashmir’s economy had always remained easy target of Indian authorities and it was their well-thought-out ploy to make every soul in Kashmir dependent. “They (Indian authorities) want to cripple our economy and from day one, they are hell-bent to cripple and crush our economic infrastructure, create sense of insecurity and are very desperate to see us holding a begging bowl,” he added.

Syed Ali Gilani said that Kashmir dispute was a political and humane issue and as such military might or coercive measures would not settle it. He said that Indian authorities should shun rigid and stubborn approach and fulfill their commitments made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Stressing the need of resolving the Kashmir dispute, he said that shelving the Kashmir dispute for long would deteriorate further the flared situations. The status quo would flare already charged atmosphere between Pakistan and India, he maintained.

Paying glowing tributes to the four youth who were killed by Indian troops in Sumbal area of Bandipora on Monday, the APHC Chairman said, “Our youth are laying down their lives to end the age-old slavery of their people, putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honour these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end.”
