Srinagar: Forceful demonstrations rocked the Kashmir Valley, today, against the use of brute force on students and other brutalities of Indian men in uniform in the territory. Many protesters were injured due to brutal actions of Indian police and troops on the protesters.According to KMS, people took to the streets in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Sopore, Palhallan, Pattan, Baramulla, Islamabad, Pulwama, Hajin, Shopian, Kulgam, Kupwara, Bandipore and other areas. The demonstrators raised high-pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. They also waved Pakistani flags at various places. Indian troops and police personnel fired teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators in Srinagar, Sopore, Hajin and other areas that led to intense clashes between the protesters and Indian forces’ personnel. Several protesters were injured in the brutal actions of the Indian forces.The Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, paid glowing tributes to the prominent martyred liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and martyrs of Hawal. He announced various programmes to be conducted in connection with the Martyrdom Week to remember these martyrs. The Martyrdom Week, which commences on Tuesday, will be marked by seminars, rallies, blood donation camp and complete shutdown in the occupied territory on 21st May.
Mirwaiz said that under the programme of the joint resistance leadership this year 21st May would be observed as the Day of Reaffirmation of Pledge. Hurriyet leaders including Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Javaid Ahmed Mir addressing public gatherings in Badgam and Srinagar areas said that Indian atrocities could not suppress the
Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement.The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, who remained under house arrest, today, in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the atrocities of Indian police and troops on the student community in the territory.Meanwhile, complete strike was observed in Pulwama town, today, against the ransacking of shops by Indian forces during anti-India protests yesterday.
