Mirpur (AJK): The federal government has issued 64,393,875/- rupees to the deputy commissioner of Azad Kashmir for the family census. It has been discovered that the vehicles purchased for the movement of census staff are brought/hired at low budget and without any advertisement. Even new vehicles have been bought for the personal relationship partners from this money.

Sources revealed to this scribe that the federal government has issued 5525/- rupees per day for the movement of the census staff for 35 days by 333 vehicles but the deputy commissioners of Azad Kashmir used their own sources to get the vehicles costing them around 4000/- per day without even advertisement or information.

Sources further quoted that even the amount is being paid through cash instead of paying through banks which raised many questions. This has raised a question that why the payment is made through cash instead of proper channels like bank. The chief secretary Azad Kashmir should take instant notice of this matter.

The federal government has issued rupees 5,994,625/- for 31 vehicles in District Neelum, 9,862,125/- rupees for 51 vehicles in district Hatiaan Baala, 7,541,625/- rupees for 39 vehicles in district Haveli, 17,017,000/- rupees for 88 vehicles in district Poonch, 23,978,875/- rupees for 124 vehicles in district Mirpur but in few areas the district officers have rented vehicles at much lowers rates.
