MIRPUR (AJK): (Altaf Hamid Rao) Azad Jammu & Kashmir Supreme Court Bar Association has expressed dismay over the alleged hostile response of the President of Pakistan’s office declining the AJK SCBA’s request for a meeting, with the President Mamnoon Hussain, by a delegation comprising senior lawyers including the newly-elected office bearers of the august representative body of the legal fraternity of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, the AJK SCBA said in a statement.
An emergency meeting of the AJK Supreme Court Bar Association, chaired by its President Syed Nishaat Hussain Kazmi Advocate, here yesterday expressed extreme regret over the alleged negative response by the office of the President of Pakistan to the recent written request by the AJK SCBA seeking a meeting by a delegation of the seasoned lawyers from AJK, led by the AJK SCBA President, to discuss the current situation of Kashmir besides the AJK SCBA’s proposed plan to highlight the Kashmir issue at national international level under the fold of the AJKSCBA, the statement underlined.
“Instead of accepting the request for a meeting by the AJK SCBA-led senior lawyers delegation from AJK, the President of Pakistan’s office allegedly declined the request with a categorical negative responseâ€, the statement maintained.
Through a unanimously passed resolution in the meeting, the AJK SCBA declared to give a matching response to the visit of the President of Pakistan to AJK whenever he managed in future. “The legal fraternity of Pakistan especially from under the umbrella of the Pakistan Bar Council would also be invited to join the proposed protest on the eve of any future visit of the President to AJKâ€, the resolution concluded, according to the statement.
