LAHORE: Chief Selector Inzimamul Haq claimed that Pakistan will give a good performance in its second ODI match against West Indies on Sunday in Guyana, adding that a one-match loss should not be a matter of concern.

Addressing media personnel in a press conference, he said: “Pakistan team has the potential to make a comeback, however, the Caribbean side must not now be taken lightly.”

Responding to a question, the chief selector said that the skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed, should not be worried about the presence of Kamran Akmal in the squad.

He stated that the Pakistani team is lacking good all-rounders.

“We are lacking all-rounders like Abdul Razzaq and Azhar Mahmood in the squad. The selection committee is in search for them,” he said.

Inzimam further said that he has made it clear to the team and management that whoever is not giving performance will not find its place in the squad.

The chief selector added that the board respects the decision of Younis Khan and Misbahul Haq to retire after the West Indies series.
