Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), today, held a peaceful protest demonstration at Talaab Khatikan in Jammu against civilian killings and arrests by Indian forces’ personnel across the territory.

The JKSM leader, Hilal Ahmed Beig, on the occasion talking to media said that innocent Kashmiris and youth were being targeted and killed without any reason. He said that recently students including Zahid Rashid, Amir Ahmed and Ishfaq Ahmed were killed at Chadoora in Badgam which was highly condemnable and dozens injured in the firing of Indian forces on peaceful protesters.

He also denounced the fresh arrest spree and house arrest of Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik and Zafar Akbar Butt.

Meanwhile, the JKSM Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the arrest of several people including 11 cricketers from Ganderbal ahead of so-called Indian parliamentary elections in the territory.
