Islamabad :It is necessary to thrive education and learning into

national language for the nation’s prosperity. In the light of the honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan’s decision govt is also taking serious measures in actualization of Urdu in government offices. These thoughts were expressed by the renowned poet and scholar

Iftikhar Arif, the Director General of National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) in a one day Consultative Workshop on “Urdu Main Zarae wa Scienci Uloom ka Firogh” here at National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC). The event was organized by Nizamat-e-Urdu of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC).

Agri. scientists, scholars from University of Arid Agriculture Rawalpindi, Riphah International, National University of Modern Language and different Research Institutions, teachers and
translators attended this workshop. They landed PARC for their efforts in implementation of Urdu and pledged their cooperation.

On this occasion Dr. Yusuf Zafar T.I . Chairman PARC said that Urdu language has played a key role in Pakistan’s creation. PARC is taking concrete steps for bonafide information deliverance to farmers. He also accentuated the agricultural scientists to get proficiency in national language for the boom in their agricultural research activities. In this respect Chairman PARC assured Council’s support to publish a quality research journal in agriculture in Urdu.

At the closing ceremony of this workshop, Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) stressed upon the documentation and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge in national language for the benefits of community at large. He assured his support in the preparation and publications of science and technology textbooks in national language to meet the requirement of higher educational institutions.

Participants of this consultative workshop have prepared recommendations on basic rules and

strategies of Urdu translation of scientific knowledge, publication of research journals in national language. Muhammad Aslam Alvari, Director (Urdu / Estt Directorate) PARC and organizer of the workshop presented the progress report of Urdu directorate and apprised the participants of upcoming projects.
