Lahore: World renowned artist, social worker and peace activist Jimmy Engineer has made Pakistan proud yet again as one of his masterpiece painting “International Architectural Composition†is going to adore the walls of centuries old National Art Museum of China in Beijing permanently from now onwards.
Jimmy Engineer along with Ambassador of Pakistan in China Masood Khalid presented his selected painting , done in oil in 2006, to the museum at an impressive ceremony held at the museum premises in Beijing on March 29 at the conclusion of his weeklong exhibition of about 100 prints of his selected art work and 18 pencil sketches of old Chinese icons from different fields.
According to a message received here from Beijing, Jimmy Engineer along with Ambassador Masood Khalid presented his huge masterpiece painting to the museum’s Deputy Director Hu Wei who in turn gave him a certificate of acceptance of his painting for permanent display in the museum.
Jimmy Engineer is the first-ever Pakistani artist whose paintings has been put on permanent display in the National Art Museum of China as a symbol of time-tested, all weather mutually trust worthy friendship between China and Pakistan.
In his welcome remarks, Hu Wei said that Pakistan has rich traditions of art and culture and this painting is a testimony to that. He said tht the painting has been selected for permanent display , not only as a tribute to the versatility of the artist but also as an ode to Pakistan-China friendship.
Ambassador Masood Khalid thanked the museum for this singular honour and said cultural ties between the two neighbouring countries are part of “One Belt One Road†vision of President Xi Jinping . He said that determined sincere efforts by the leaders and peoples of both the countries to strengthen Pakistan-China relations have now started bearing fruit. Availing the opportunity, Ambassador Masood Khalid also highlighted the cultural diversity of Pakistan describing it as a cradle of many civilizations.
Jimmy Engineer thanked the museum for giving him the opportunity to showcase Pakistan and Pakistani art in a positive way and to the Chinese artists, art lovers and the people from different walks of life for appreciating his creative art work which was on display in the just concluded solo paintings exhibition first-ever by any Pakistani artist in Beijing, China. Calling himself as a true servant of Pakistan, Jimmy Engineer said that he is always ready for making further contributions towards promoting and strengthening of Pakistan-China friendship.
The painting put on permanent display in the museum, “International Architectural Compositionâ€, depicts in impressive absorbing oil colours various architectural designs including Khan al-Khalil Bazar ofCairo,Egupt, The Khirat Khoumd Tpwer Chittore, Emperor Humayum’s Tomb near Delhi, India, Mosque of Amir Ibn al-As Cairo.
