Lahore: Provincial Information & Culture Department arranged a competition of Urdu, English and Punjabi speeches among universities and colleges of the province which was won by Punjab University. Punjab University speakers got first position in all the three categories and won team trophy. Students of University of Gujrat obtained three positions while that of Government College Lahore secured two positions. The students of 17 prominent universities and colleges from all over Punjab took part in speech contest with topics “Aman ka Pegham Pakistan”, Pak Sir Zameen Shadbagh” and “Apna Muqam Paida Kar” under the aegis of Directorate General Public Relations Information Department at the auditorium of PILAC. Shabahat Khan of Punjab University stood first, Arusha Awan of University of Gujrat got second position while Talha Seemab of GCU University remained third. The topics of Punjabi speech competitions were “Sufi Aman Da Safeer” “Aikta Di Taqat” and “Ae Dharti Sher Jawan Di” in which speeches were delivered in mother languages. Mubashar Saeed of Punjab University got first position, Haider Imam of University of Gujrat second and Shadab Khan of Government Science College third. Shehan Zafar of Punjab University obtained first position in English speech competitions, Haris Ali of Government College University second and Anam Khalid of University of Gujrat third. Provincial Minister for Information Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman distributed trophies and awards among the winners. Director General PILAC Dr. Sughra Sadaf, Additional Secretary Saman Rai and others were present on the occasion while Prof. Dr. Faisal Kamal Haideri performed as judge
