Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The meeting of the standing committee of AJK legislative Assembly on education held its here with Deputy Speaker Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tair in the chair here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by its members Chaudary Shehzad Mehmood, MLA, Mohterma Sehrish Qamar MLA, Secretary Assembly, Chaudhry Basharat Hussain, Secretay Education Irshad Ahmed Qureshi and Divisional Director Schools, Raja Roshan Johar. The secretary education submitted a detail report about the establishment of new educational institution, training of the teachers recruitment and promotions of the teacher. The secretary told the house committee that government has recently signed an agreement with UK government under which 6000 teachers would be trained to improve the quality of education. The chairman of the committee directed that educational institution should be functionalized at union council level. He said that no teacher should be hired on contract basis for less than six months period. He further directed that budget should be allocated for the maintenance and renovation of every school to ensure the life of school buildings for longer period of time.
