Muzaffarabad: The new Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Muhammad Ibrahim Zia has linked promotions of judicial officers with punctuality in offering daily prayers besides their job performance. He said this in maiden address to the officials and employees of Supreme Court after taking oath of his office as Chief Justice here on Saturday. The Chief Justice said he will himself lead Zuhr prayer in the premises of Supreme Court and only those employees and officers would be recommended for annual increment that are punctual in daily prayers. The Chief Justice earlier also administered oath to all judicial officers and employees of Supreme Court who under oath pledged to perform their official duties with total honesty and dedication. He said that negligence, dishonesty and any deliberate harm to the official property on the part of Supreme Court employees would in no way be tolerated. He directed the officials and employees to accord respect to all those who come to the court for justice. The Senior Justice of Supreme Court Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan also spoke on the occasion and congratulated new Chief Justice on assuming the office of Chief Justice. Earlier when CJ arrived in Supreme Court he was warmly received by the officials and was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned police contingent
