Abbaspur: (Parliament Times) The Speakers at a seminar have called for protection of existing forests and growth of new to keep the beauty of AJK region intact and address the issue of increasing environmental degradation effectively. The seminar organized by Forest Department at Government Boys High School Abbaspur was chaired by Headmaster of the School Raja Muhamamd Shafique Kiani and addressed by Member AJK Legislative Assembly Ch.Yasin Gulshan, Conservator of Forest Sardar Muhammad Rafique Khan, Divisional Forest Officer Reforestation Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan, Divisional Forest Officer Zahid Iqbal Khan, Range Officer Ch. Saleem, Range Officer Hajira Sardar Shaheen, Raja Muhammad Afzal Kiani Advocate and others. The Speakers highly appreciated the Forest Department for lunching a rigorous plantation drive in Poonch and urged the people to make the campaign a success to maintain the natural beauty of the region. They said that each of us should plant trees and protect them with national spirit for the safe future of our coming generation. Speaking on the occasion Member AJK Legislative Assembly Ch. Muhammad Yasin Gulshan asked the students to create awareness about the importance of forests and participate in the tree plantation campaign with zeal and zest. He said that employees of the forest department are facing numerous problems and assured that he will raise the matter in AJK Legislative Assembly soon.
