Quetta: Saying that both Pakistan and Kashmir need each other, AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood on Friday emphasized that Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir and vice versa.
Addressing a news conference at MPA Hostel Quetta, he said strong Kashmir is guarantee to the security of Pakistan. He said India has been at war with the people of Jammu and Kashmir since the unfair division of subcontinent and its forces deployed in Kashmir have been engaged in massive human rights violations for past seventy years.
The president said Pakistan had raised the voice of Kashmiris at every available forum for which people and government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is highly indebted to Pakistan. Describing the bond between Pakistan and Kashmir indissoluble, President said strong Azad Kashmir is not only essential for Pakistan’s security but also a guarantee to the freedom of the occupied part of Kashmir.
He expressed his profound gratitude to the government and people of Baluchistan for their hospitality during his three day visit to the province and said all governments in Pakistan especially the people of Pakistan have always extended their unconditional support to the struggling people of Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed the need for more concrete steps for resolution of Kashmir issue.
About the problems being faced by Kashmiri refugees settled in different parts of Baluchistan, president said these issues will be sorted out with the support and cooperation of Baluchistan government. He said that AJK government will take up the issue of illegal occupation of housing colonies built for Kashmir refugees with Federal and provincial government of Baluchistan.
Answering a question, Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan said Pukhtoon brothers settled in Azad Jammu and Kashmir for years will be fully protected and their complaints regarding residential status and business matters will be address keeping in view the law of the land.
Meanwhile Speaker Baluchistan Provincial Assembly Mutharama Rahila Hamid Durrani called on AJK President and discussed with him issues relating to Baluchistan, Kashmir situation and China Pakistan Economic Corridor. President thanked the members of provincial assembly for passing resolutions against the Indian atrocities and in support of Kashmiri peoples’ struggle for their right to self determination. He also expressed his gratitude to the members of provincial assembly for raising voice against Indian shelling on civil population of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
