NEW DELHI : India’s new army chief General Bipin Rawat on Friday has threatened Pakistan with surgical strikes.

According to Hindustan Times, the army chief maintained that the strikes can be repeated if the “situation warrants”.

“We will do it again if needed,” said Rawat at a press conference in Delhi.

Earlier, India falsely claimed of carrying out surgical strikes at the border in September 2016.

Pakistan strongly rejected the claim and termed it an ‘illusion’ to create false effects.

“There has been no surgical strike by India, instead there had been cross borderfire initiated and conducted by India which is existential phenomenon. As per rules of engagement same was strongly and befittingly responded by Pakistani troops,” the ISPR stated.
