Pakistan has reaffirmed solidarity with Turkey in the wake of new terrorist attack in Istanbul in which thirty nine innocent people were killed.Foreign Office spokesman said the government and people of Pakistan are deeply anguished at this despicable act of terrorism against defenseless people who had gathered for new year celebration.The statement also reaffirmed Pakistan`s condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and the country`s support to Turkey in its resolute fight against this menace.Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the terror attack at Istanbul, Turkey on New Year’s eve.The prime Minister in a message said Pakistani people shared the grief of Turkish people and stood by them, in this most painful time. The PM said that terrorism was our common enemy and the world needs to put up a joint fight against this menace.He said Pakistan itself has suffered great losses of lives and property by terrorism and would continue to ensure all measures for its eradication.The prime minister on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Turkey on the loss of precious human lives in the attack.As many as 39 people, including many foreigners, were killed when a gunman reportedly dressed as Santa Claus stormed the Reina nightclub in Istanbul as revellers were celebrating the New Year, the latest carnage to rock Turkey after a bloody 2016.The assailant shot dead a policeman and a civilian at the entrance to the Reina club, one of the city’s most exclusive nightspots, and then went on a shooting rampage inside.Interior Minister of Turkey SuleymanSoylu said the attacker escaped, and was now the target of a major manhunt, expressing hope the suspect “would be captured soon”. Soylu said in televised comments that of 21 victims who have been identified so far, 16 are foreigners and five are Turks. Another 69 people are being treated in hospital. According to report, Turkey has endured a series of major attacks in the past year, carried out by militants. The jihadist group has repeatedly called for attacks on Turkey, most recently last month. In August, Ankara sent tanks and special forces into Syria to clear its border territory.Turkey has been reeling under terrorist due to its involvement in the Syrian civil war. These attacks were allegedly carried out by either Kurdish militants or the IS. In the wake these attacks, security measures had already been heightened in major Turkish cities. The latest attack has been described as the deadliest terrorist action in Turkish history as the highest number of casualties was reported on the eve of New Year night. This latest attack highlights the increasing crisis and chaos in the country. The repeated terror and bomb attacks have claimed numerous lives all over the world. Peace, welfare of people, economic growth and the universal environment will be severely affected if the terror menace is not eliminated. The time has come now for the countries that are the victims of this threat to stand united and take strict action against this nuisance.
