Muzaffarabad: AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said the year 2016 witnessed unpredicted courage and resilience by people of Occupied Kashmir against the usurper India and expressed his hope that undaunted spirit of freedom and justice will further flourish in coming year.
In his message on the beginning of New Year, Prime Minister said new generation of Kashmir has added another dimension to their struggle against Indian rule in the year 2016 and the new year will bring their destiny closer to them. The Prime Minister said in 2016 the Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir had exposed most horrendous face of India before the world especially after the cold-blooded murder of the Kashmiri youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani. He said over 100 innocent civilians have lost their lives, while more than 8000 are injured due to use of pallet guns and brute force by occupation forces.
 AJK PM said Pakistan was committed to extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir as usual.Kashmiris and Pakistan, he said, believed that the solution to the Kashmir dispute lay with abiding by United Nations resolutions stressing the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
Raja Farooq Haider termed the unleashing of terror by the Indian forces on innocent Kashmiris barbaric, saying that such brutal acts could not silence their voice for their just cause of freedom and right to self-determination. He reiterated His government’s determination to stand in solidarity with the Kashmiris brothers who were suffering at the hands of occupation forces. He urged the international community to take notice of Indian atrocities and human rights violations, particularly firing of pellets on innocent youth, children and women in Indian-held Kashmir. The supreme sacrifices rendered by the people of Held Kashmir for their just cause of gaining the right to self-determination would not go waste, he added.
Praising the role of Kashmiri media in highlighting the cause of Kashmir, he said the AJK government would utilize all resources for highlighting the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. AJK PM said the democratic government in AJK believed in respect of human rights and civil liberties and would continue to expose the violation of human rights in occupied Kashmir at all forums in New Year as well.
