Rawalakot:Â (Parliament Times) AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has expressed his extreme displeasure over politicking, tug of war between different groups and litigation for the administrative posts in University of Poonch Rawalakot. He directed the administration and members of the faculty to keep their focus on improvement of the quality of education and discipline in the university by keeping aside their own personal interests. He was speaking after being briefed by Vice Chancellor about the state of affairs of the university.
The President said teachers are role model for their students and if the observe and promote the merit and rules their people will follow their footprints in future. He announced on the occasion permanent Vice Chancellor of the university will be appointed by the end of January next year. He urged the university teacher to end the practice of litigation and abstain from tarnishing the image of the institution. He said that university has very capable and highly qualified faculty and it his earnest desire that it should evolve into model seat of higher education. The president directed the management to sortout the issue of students’ GPA at the earliest.
Meanwhile terming Poonch Medical College Rawalakot as gift of the government to the people of Rawalakot, AJK declared that institution will continue to function. He said that all issues being faced by college will be gradually resolved. He stated this after a briefing given to him by the Principal of the college, Dr Zia-ur-Rehman. The president college congratulated the principal and his team for their initiatives and assured that all the problems being faced by the college would be addressed.
