Islamabad:Â (Parliament Times) AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has said India is committing crimes against humanity and its forces are carrying out genocide of Kashmiri people.
Addressing at 16th Human Rights Conference organized by International Human Rights Observers in connection with World Human Rights Day at National Libraryon Sunday, the president said violation of human rights, has in fact lost its meaning in Kashmir as the entire held valley has turned into a big prison. “There is blackout of mobile and internet, media is under strict sensor to tell the truth. The pictures of dead and wounded youth speak volume of army’s savagery in the part of Kashmir under Indian occupation,” he said.
Saying that Kashmir is not territorial dispute between India and Pakistan, President Masood said it is rather question of the future of 15 million people of Kashmir and sovereignty of 84441 square miles territory and dispute is to be settled through a plebiscite under United Nations’ supervision.
Condemning the Indian brutalities and crimes against humanity, AJK president demanded that issue of Indian crimes against unarmed innocent people should be raised in the International Court of Justice so that those committed crimes should be held accountable. He said that Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved through bilateral talks between India and Pakistan and added that third party intervention is absolutely necessary and in present circumstances and the third party is United Nations, which has already passed several resolutions on the issue.
Referring to comprehensive human rights charters of United Nations, he said it is responsibility of civil society to respect for human rights and stand up for those whose rights are violated. The Conference was also addressed Chairman International Human Rights Observers, Aftab Salaria, Dr Nagina and others. Later AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan called on President Sardar Muhmmad Masood Khan and discussed with him prevailing situation in Occupied Kashmir, efforts for rehabilitation of Indian firing at LoC, expected visit of Prime Minister of Pakistan to AJK and financial crisis in the state.
