Islamabad: (Parliament Times)  The seven Day Training Workshop for the owners and managers of Cooperative Housing Societies jointly organized by District Administration Islamabad and the Housing Societies’ representative organization ICA has concluded in Islamabad.

The legal advisors of CDA, Cooperative and allied department delivered lecture to the more than 40 participants of the workshop representing different housing societies of the city. The purpose of the workshop was to remove ambiguities about the housing schemes and sensitizes the owners and managers of the housing societies about the relevant laws and rules.

Speaking on the occasion, Acting Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Farast Khan said providing shelter to shelterless is great welfare work on one hand while same is basic responsibility of the state. He said those who are doing this job with the spirit of cooperation are in fact extending helping hand to the government. The commissioner said that Islamabad administration support the alliance and also expect that it will activate the societies and bring transparency along with working for the welfare of its members. He said that very purpose of this workshop was to make members and office bearers of the societies aware about new reforms and cooperative laws.

He said that similar workshops and session will be organized in future to provide opportunities to the members and relevant government to interact with each other. The recommendations of NAB Prevention Committee were also presented in the workshop and participants expressed their reservations on some of the points of the recommendation which would be conveyed to the NAB officials, the Commissioner said.

Those who delivered lecture were included Riaz Hanif Rahi Advocate, Tariq Korea, Ghazi Rehman of NAB, Malik Faraz from CDA, Azhar Baluch, ICA and Mazhar Hussain from Cooperative. Speaking on the occasion Senior Vice ICA, Altaf Bhatt appreciate cooperative for holding the workshop and demanding that Registrar Cooperative should have powers to approve the marketing and granting provisional approval for layout.
