Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, Indian police locked both the gates of the Hyderpora residence of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, from outside and did not allow him to lead the march towards Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.

The police used to detain the APHC Chairman whenever he would come out defying his house arrest however the octogenarian leader was today not allowed to venture out as the police locked both the gates of his residence from outside.“Gilani Sahab stood for twenty minutes knocking at the gates locked from outside but police did not respond,†an APHC spokesman told media. Meanwhile, Indian police whisked away Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a police jeep when he stepped out of his Nigeen residence and tried to march towards the Jamia Masjid. The police also arrested Hurriyet leader, Abdul Ahad Parra, in Rajbagh area of Srinagar.
The occupation authorities also continued to put other Hurriyet leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Bilal Siddiqui, Syed Bashir Andrabi and Zafar Akbar Butt under house arrest or in police custody to prevent them from leading the march. They were not even allowed to offer Juma prayers.Complete shutdown continued on 126th consecutive day, today, against the civilian killings and other brutalities of Indian police and troops in the Kashmir Valley. Meanwhile, the Anjuman Sharie Shian in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the continued detention of its President, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and the arrest of other Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
It said that the Hurriyet leaders were not being allowed to offer their Juma prayers which was a direct interference in their religious affairs and would not be tolerated. It urged the international community to take notice of the human rights violations by Indian forces in the territory.
