Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has condemned the barbaric, extrajudicial and cold-blooded murder of eight activists of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in a fake encounter by police in Bhopal jail. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that as per reports these persons were arrested on fake charges and police was well aware of it, sensing their early acquittal and to shield their own criminal mentality they stage managed this drama and the communal political top brass was quick to glorify their ‘bravery’ and announced a reward of 40 lakhThe APHC Chairman said, Bhopal jail is a high security and one of the most secure jails in India and escape from there is next to impossible. Even the local IG has confirmed that victims were unarmed so the question of firing on the police party doesn’t arise, he said. “This looks as a simple and straight case of extra-judicial mass murder as a retired Supreme Court judge has rightly asserted that those involved in this case should be hanged to death, which could be of some solace to the bereaved families and deterrence for future,†he said.“Why it is always Muslims only, who are involved in jailbreak and are then eliminated in fake encounters and why the CCTV cameras of the sophisticated jail were non-functional?†he questioned.Syed Ali Gilani pointed out that the political and administrative class whether in the veil of so-called secularism or openly and outrageous and venomous preachers of Hindutva, all were unanimously hell-bent to wipe out the minorities particularly Muslims. He said that for the last seven decades, reins of power were in the hands of Congress with a deceitful image of secularism and equality. “But even they harbored more than 40,000 anti-Muslim riots killing lakhs of Muslims and destroying their property and worship places and the cries.

On the other hand, people of Kunus area of Bandipora district offered funeral prayers in absentia for the SIMI activists who were shot dead by Indian police on 31st October in Bhopal.
