Mirpur: In order to highlight the importance of social sciences in line with the modern age, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the State-run Mirpur University of Science & Technology (MUST) are jointly hosting the 4th International Conference on Social Sciences at the HEC Auditorium in Islamabad from October 26 – which would continue for two days, it was officially declared.

Disclosing this Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalique, Director MUST Business School and Conference Convener from the MUST, told reporters here today  that at least 24 delegates from various parts of the world have confirmed their participation.

“Over 200 delegates from universities and research organizations from various parts of the world have been registered for participation in the conference”, he said and added that the delegates comprising seasoned academicians of the global repute would read their paper containing their high intellect and pen on the concerned subject.

President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Muhammad Masood Khan will grace the inaugural session of the two-day conference as Chief guest on October 26.

Besides, Chairman Higher Education Commission of Pakistan,  Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Vice Chancellor MUST Varsity Prof. Dr. Habib ur Rehman (Sitara e Imtiaz) and Chairperson of the Conference and Director General Academics HEC Riaz Ahmed Chohan  will also address the inaugural session highlighting  the salient features and objectives of holding of the global conference on the social sciences.

Highlighting the salient features of the  Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalique  underlined that primarily  the conference is being convened  under the theme of   the importance of Regional and International Cooperation – besides  to address the problems and prospects 2016 to the field.

He continued that  the prime objective of holding of the  conference is to bring academic leaders and researchers together at one platform and provide them an opportunity of sharing their researches, building, friendship and development academic and research collaborations for their mutual benefits.

Dr. Khalique underlined that the HEC had already established a committee for development of social sciences and humanity in Pakistan   headed by seasoned academician Dr. Nilofer Shaikh in order to strengthen the research in social science in the country including AJK.

Research scholars including the subject experts will read their research papers on  various themes including Socio economic development and education in Pakistan, civil society and neoliberals state, democratic government and development,  folklore and quest for identity, socioeconomic development and education in Pakistan, theories and methods, emerging trends in social sciences – besides participating in the dialogue  and discussion during different session s of the two-day conference, he concluded.
