Muzaffarabad: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir cabinet on Monday called upon international community to play its role in resolving Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions and aspirations of people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan unanimously adopted various resolutions welcoming the visit of President Mamnoon Hussain to Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It said that the President’s address to the joint session of AJK legislative assembly and AJK Council reflects the feelings of the entire nation. Shaking the conscience of international community he apprised it of the gravity of the Kashmir issue. The resolution said that if Kashmir issue was not resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions granting the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to self-determination it can cause any catastrophic situation in the region. The cabinet members, MLAs, members of Jammu and Kashmir Council and people of Kashmir are grateful to the President for expressing solidarity with them. The meeting also expressed profound thanks to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for a comprehensive policy and best diplomatic efforts on Kashmir.

The resolution said that during the Prime Minister’s visit, President of Azerbaijan’s announcing of supporting to the right of self-determination of Kashmiris is a great success. It added that due to solid policies of Nawaz Sharif on Kashmir, this issue has again become a flash point.

The meeting noted that even after 100 days of martyrdom of Burhan Wani curfew, worst atrocities and human rights continue in Occupied Kashmir, killing, blinding and injuring Kashmiri youths through the use of pellet guns. It said Kashmiris had been besieged in the held valley and there had been shortage of food and medicines which has multiplied their sufferings.
