Islamabad: The 50th death anniversary of eminent Kashmiri leader Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas was observed on Monday.
In this connection, a special ceremony was held at Kashmir House, which was addressed by senator Raja Zaffar-ul-Haq, federal minister Tariq Fazl Chudhary, AJK PM Raja Farooq Haider Khan, senior minister AJK Ch. Tariq Farooq and Syed Shoukat Shah member AJK legislative Assembly, Ch. Shehazad and others.
Paying eulogizing tributes to Ch.Ghulam Abass the speakers said that Rais-ul-Ahrar was a man of integrity and honesty who served the nation selflessly throughout his political career. Referring to his indomitable role and peerless contribution to the freedom struggle they said that Ch. Abbas was a true freedom fighter who devoted his entire life for the freedom of Kashmir. The participants on the occasion through a unanimous resolution expressed their resolve to make Pakistan a strong, stable and prosperous state thereby thwarting internal and external conspiracies.
They also expressed full confidence and faith in the leadership of PML-N president Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif saying that they will stand shoulder to shoulder with the party president through every thick and thin.
The participants through a resolution expressed satisfaction over the performance of AJK government led by Raja Farooq Haider Khan. While expressing solidarity with the leadership of All Parties Conference (APHC) they said that the people of AJK and Pakistan will continue their all out support to their Kashmir brethren in occupied Kashmir till they achieve their long cherished goal of freedom from Indian subjugation.
They also denounced in strong terms the Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and demanded the international community to play its much needed role to settle the issue in accordance with the UN resolution guaranteeing right of self determination to the people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan laid floral wreath at the Mausoleum of renowned Kashmiri leader at Faizabad Rawalpindi whereas a company of Azad Kashmir Police presented a special salute at the tomb of the deceased leader on the occasion.
