ISLAMABAD: UNIDO Pakistan delivered two days training ( March 26-27) at Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries on financing for Energy Efficiency (EE)and Renewable Energy (RE) Technology based projects.
The training was attended by representatives of Financial Institutions and banks, Renewable energy Companies, Consultants and Academia. The training was imparted by International Expert Mr. Ivan Gerginovand he delivered excellent hands-on training on RETScreen Software and participants learned how to evaluate the EE and RE projects from financial perspectives.
One of the participant Engr. Faiz Bhutta former chairman Pakistan Solar Association and General Secretary Pakistan Energy Watch expressed his views that the training program was excellent and it has created knowledge and skills in project evaluation from financial aspects and banks and financial institutions will launch their innovative financing programs for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Projects in Pakistan and as a result RE and EE sector will grow very fast and bring transition from fossil fuel based energy system to Non-fossil fuel energy systems brining sustainability in the energy sector .
On this occasion, Mr. Ali Qureshi National Expert on Sustainable Energy Imitative UNIDO and Mr. Mansoor Ahmed Khan head Sustainable Energy Intuitive Program UNIDO and Mr. Zahid Latif Khan President RCCI spoke on the event and appreciated active participation of representatives from various sectors in this program.
The training ended by distribution of certificates amongst participants by President Rawalpindi Chamber Commerce and Industries.
