Mumbai: After trying it out in the opening knock-out rounds of the Harris Shield last year, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s innovative 14 players-a-side idea is now set to be implemented in the finals of the Elite League in both the Harris and Giles Shield too.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will implement this rule till the Elite finals of the prestigious inter-school tournaments after a request to that effect from Tendulkar and Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) cricket secretary and former Wankhede curator Nadeem Memon.
Memon received a letter, a copy of which is with TOI, from the MCA, giving a green signal to the unique concept.
