TDAP organizes mango show to promote fruit’s exports

Islamabad : Trade Development Authority of Pakistan has successfully organized Mango Show to promote different varieties of Mangoes for the foreign Ambassadors, Diplomats and business community.
Wide variety of mangoes especially Chaunsa, Dosehri, Langra, Anwar Rathor, Fajri, Saroli, Desi and Sindhri were displayed at the show for international guests.
On the occasion Minister for Commerce, Mian Misbah ur Rehman said that the government is taking steps to promote fruit and vegetable farming to enhance country’s exports. He stressed the need to educate mango growers and adopt modern technology to ensure reduction in the wastage of the fruit and increase the shelf life of the mango.
Muhammad Javed Jamali,a mango grower from Muzaffargarh urged the government to organize seminars to educate mango growers and exporters related to production, harvesting, packaging and meeting international standards and export procedures.
The main aim of the show was to introduce Pakistani mango varieties to the Ambassadors, Diplomats and Officers of Embassies.
Director TDAP,. Muhammad Irfan told reporters that mangoes grown in Pakistan, especially Chaunsa, Dosehri, Langra, Anwar Rathor, Fajri, Saroli, Desi and Sindhri, are rich in taste, sweetness and quality. As a result, they are in high demand round the globe. Later, the minister distributed awards among the highly performed mango exporters.
