Muzsaffarabad: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said financially and democratically strong Pakistan is a guarantee for the success Kashmir freedom movement.
Addressing a public gathering on the eve of death anniversary of renowned Kashmiri leader K.H. Khurshid in Muzaffarabad on Saturday, he said the Kashmir issue has become a flashpoint in the world because of effective foreign policy of the present PML-N government.
He lauded Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for highlighting the Kashmir issue at international forums and taking keen interest in the development of Azad Kashmir.
The AJK Prime Minster strongly condemned the human rights abuses by Indian troops in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The prime minister expressed his profound gratitude to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for constituting a committee for suggesting amendments in the interim constitution of Azad Kashmir act 1974. He said that we firmly believe that economically strong Pakistan could prove better pleader of Kashmir cause.
The prime minister said that he will continue to talk about the rights of the people of Azad Kashmir and thanked 180 million people of Pakistan for extending political, moral and diplomatic support to the struggling people of Kashmir. The PM said that people on occupied Kashmir are not alone in their struggle to end Indian occupation of their motherland rather they are being supported by the people of Azad Kashmir and 4 million people of Gilgit and Baltistan. He said that the day is not far off when we will commemorate the death anniversary of K H Khurshid in Srinagar. Later chairing a meeting attended by secretary planning and housing Malik Israr Ahmed Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad Muhterma Tehzeeb- un- Nisa, SSP Raja Muhammad Akmal Khan Administrator Municipal corporation Muzaffarabad Shakeel Gillani, the prime minister directed to take unnecessary steps for the improvement of capital city Muzaffarabad.
He said that government is engaged in evolving a plan to provide all civic facilities including resolve the issues of traffic and provision of sports and leisure facilities to the city. The prime minister directed shifting of all bus stations and workshops outside the city, rehabilitation of existing parks and construction of new recreational facilities in the city.
