Islamabad: (PR) Pakistan Microfinance & SME Forum 2017 was held under the auspices of Shamrock Conferences International at Islamabad on Thursday. The event was organized in connection with 11th Annual Assembly of Microfinance & SME Stakeholders; theme of forum was Nurturing, Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion to Empower the Masses. The eminent delegates representing reputed banking and financial Institutions, International Experts, analysts, academia, young researches and students attended the Forum and participated in interactive sessions to share their knowledge and success stories. Chairman Shamrock Group Mr. Menin Rodrigues welcomed the participants and briefed about the efforts to provide a collaborative Forum of Financial Institutions to evaluate their performances and get benefit of their mutual experiences. The Guest of Honour Mr. Samar Hasnain Executive Director, Development Finance Group, State Bank of Pakistan addressing the gathering underlined the need of following prescribed rules of business and proper utilization of financial resources to achieve the targets for financial independence and strengthening corporate sector. In his keynote, Mr. Sher Ayub Khan CEO, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) highlighted the role of SME sector in development of socio-economic conditions of masses by promoting business entrepreneurs at grass root level. He said that it is only way to overcome the issues of poverty, unemployment and backwardness is to promote the small scale cottage industries in the country. Mr. Imran Inayat Butt Esecutie Director, Specialized Companies Division, Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan chairing the session talked about the pre-requisites of financial securities to protect the investments and financial rights of all concerns. Chief Executive Officer FINCA Microfinance Bank Mr. Shahid Kazi deliberated about Game Changing Potential of Digital Financial Inclusion. Chief Executive Officer Institute of Rural Management Mr. Roomi Hayat discussed ways to remove barriers from the path of prosperity. Group Business Director, Mr.Rehan Butt talked about insurance to mitigate the risk factors. Founder, Kafe Kam and Gender Consultant Dr. Rakshinda Perveen emphasized on social up lift projects for wellbeing and development of poor sections of society with the objective to provide opportunities to the marginalized community. Mr. Noor Ahmed, Head, Agricultural Credit & Microfinance, State Bank of Pakistan. Minister Counselor Nigeria Economic Diplomacy Initiative Mr. Rilwn Olajide Loanrewaju acknowledged the presentations of experts and said that it is need of hour that optimum support should be extended to reduce unemployment and Microfinance can play an important role for the purpose. The speakers were of the opinion that Knowledge and information is key to expand business relations. They said that today’s world is of collaboration and partnership and with the help of networking we can seek help from of each other to promote the spirit of development of every sector of trade and commerce.
