RAWALPINDI: Sham e Sukhan an Urdu Mushaira organized by Sada-e-Sukhan in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council was held at RAC on the eve of 80th Death Anniversary of great poet and thinker Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal.
The event was dedicated to renowned poets Mr. Imran Shamshad and Mr. Hidayay Sayer from Karachi who specially flew to attend the session. The purpose of organizing such literary event was to encourage emerging poets from twin cities and to promote literary activities.
The poets include from Rawalpindi, Gilgit, Hafiz Abad, Faisalabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Those participated were included; Mr Arshad Miraj, Mr Akhtar Raza Saleemi, Mr Faqqi Haidar, Dr. Aziz Faisal, Mr Zubair Qaiser, Miss Nida Fatima, Mr. Hassan Zahir Raja, Dr. Fakhra Noreen, Mr Wared Bazmi, Mrs. Sadia Usman, Mr. Imran Namibia, Mrs. Maryum Motiwala, Mr. Abdul Qadir Taba and Mr Aslam Saghir and others.
The event was attended by poets, literary personalities, students, media personals and people belonging to different walks of life. All new poets presented their thoughts through their innovative poetry. Mr. M. A Doshi Chairman of Sada-e-Sukhan in his address said that electronic and print media, literary government organizations should encourage in organizing such sittings where people can share their view points and thoughts through their poetry and literature.
“Such events bring relaxation, calm in society and helps in overcoming social evils”, he further said. Mr. M A Doshi appreciated the role of media persons in promoting literary event through acknowledgment shields.
