MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The success of our nation lies in imparting the highest moral and ethical teachings
along with providing quality education to our younger generation, said Sardar Masood Khan,
President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The President made these remarks while addressing the oath taking ceremony of the
AJK Boy Scouts Association here in Muzaffarabad.
Sardar Masood Khan said that Quaid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as Governor General of Pakistan
had acknowledged the impact of the Scouts Movement in positively developing the moral, physical and
spiritual character of the youth.
As the Chief Scout, AJK Boy Scouts Association, the President said it was a matter of pride for him to
lead such a passionate group of citizens who have served their communities and the nation with zeal
and enthusiasm.
Sardar Masood Khan said, We shall take pragmatic steps in adopting scouting as a permanent
feature at our schools, colleges and universities. This also is our collective responsibility as a society to
encourage such activities so as to produce model and hardworking citizens.
The President encouraged setting up Scouting Clubs and Scout Units in universities and schools
respectively. We need citizens who are aware of the challenges of the modern world; students that
believe in hard work and are motivated with the passion for excellence who will wholeheartedly  be
driven with the zeal to serve the country.
With the support of President of Pakistan as the Chief Scout of Pakistan and the Chief Commissioner,
(PBSA); Sardar Masood Khan hoped for the Scout Movement to be implemented on modern grounds
in AJK. Special efforts for setting up the Scout Headquarters and providing allied facilities will be
initiated with the cooperation of the Minister Education, AJK.
The event was attended by Ms. Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Speaker Balochistan Assembly and
Chief Commissioner, Pakistan Boy Scouts Association (PBSA); Hafiz Tariq Mahmood, Sr. Dy. Chief
Commissioner,(PBSA); Secretary Education, Govt. of AJK and senior officials.
