Gilgit: (Parliament Times) Famous Mountaineer and Everest Climber Ms Samina Baig leads Cleanliness drive at Khunjerab organized by SCO. Serene Khunjerab Pass was in focus of SCO volunteers who undertook a cleanliness drive at 16,000 ft height with Everst fame Ms Samina Baig joining them as part of her commitment with the land. SCO organized the ‘Neat and Clean Khunjerab” at the Khunjerab Pass, Gilgit-Baltistan on closing of tourist season
In addition to SCO employees, students, volunteers and the tourist participated in the drive with great zeal and zest. Speaking at the occasion Ms Samina Baig, the Brand Ambassador of SCO appreciated the initiative and called on everyone to fulfill their responsibility of maintaining the clean environment. The SCO local commander present on the occasion pledged that SCO will meet its social responsibilities and will extend the drive to other parts of the region.
The event was held as part of SCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility activity, aiming to create awareness in the masses regarding the need of developing a sustainable environment for the coming generations.
The social circles of the region appreciated the event and participated whole-heartedly in large numbers.
