Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Kashmiris on both sides of Line of Control (LoC) observed 49th death anniversary of renowned Kashmiri leader, Raees-ul-Ahrar Chaudhary Ghulam Abbas on Sunday with pledge to continue struggle for liberation of their motherland from illegal Indian occupation.
Special prayers were offered in mosques in the morning for the departed soul of great Kashmiri leader, early liberation of Jammu and Kashmir, progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Various political, social and cultural organizations have arranged different functions to mark the anniversary throughout the state.
The main function was held at Faizabad in Rawalpindi today in which leaders including AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Former Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan and others paid rich tributes to the political services rendered by him for the cause of Kashmir liberation struggle.
They said that the late leader had played a significant role for the Kashmir liberation movement and devoted his whole life for this cause. He never compromised on principles and wholeheartedly supported the state accession to Pakistan and remained committed to his cause.
They vowed to continue the mission of late Chaudhary Ghulam Abbas to get occupied land of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian clutches and translate the idea of accession of entire Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan into reality.
Speakers also called for early settlement of the Kashmir problem in line with the aspirations of Kashmiris and to ensure the emergence of ever-lasting and durable peace in South Asia.
Earlier President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and Former Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan laid floral wreath on the grave of late leader and offered fatiha for the departed soul. On this occasion a smartly turned out police contingent offered salute at the Mazar.
