All promises made with media owners by AJK government proved fake: AKNS

“Will start state-wide movement against injustices”

Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir led by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has miserably failed to fulfill its promises made with All Kashmir News Papers Society (AKNS) even the longstanding payments of bills worth billions of rupees have not been paid so far despite the passage of several years.

The government’s perpetual delay in the payments is a matter of grave concern not only for the AKNS but for the whole media industry as journalists associated with different organization have been facing serious salary issues over the past several months due to this non-payment. Despite the repeated pledges and commitments made by the AJK Prime Minister no steps whatsoever has been made to address this critical issue. Irked over the dilly dallying tactics of the government the AKNS, Editors Council and journalist organizations have threatened to wage a state-wide movement against government provided it failed to fulfill its commitments.
