LAHORE : President Mamnoon Hussain Wednesday greeted Iftikhar Ali Malik for assuming important slot of Senior Vice President (SVP) SAARC Chamber and said his elevation to this key post is not only an honour for the country but also speaks of his invaluable meritorious services for regional prosperity, peace, stability and promotion of trade in the region.
In his felicitation letter communicated here today, President Mamnoon Hussain said that Iftikhar Ali Malik is a seasoned trade leader and famous for his unprecedented services across the region. He hoped that he would leave no stone unturned for making concerted efforts to transform the SAARC member states into an effective platform. He emphasized the need to make the eight-member entity more proactive for progress and stability of the region.
President further stressed the need to make regional road, sea and air links more effective. He said Pakistan fully supports these objectives and believes that communication links between these regional countries will provide a basis for promoting economic activities in the region.. He said the member countries should also enhance bilateral relations to promote mutual harmony.
SVP SAARC CCI Iftikhar Ali Malik thanked President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain for his good wishes towards him and SAARC CCI and said he would also do his best to build soft image of Pakistan across the globe. He said it is honour for him that he is serving the interests of Pakistan on this platform. He said he conveyed to all concerned authorities of eight member states that destiny of the people in region was linked with each other and it is only through mutual cooperation that we can fight poverty, unemployment, climate change, militancy and other public issues.
