Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) President of Rawalpindi Islamabad Bureaus Journalist Association (RIBJA) Sardar Shoukat Mehmood has said that the political activists and journalist community should join hands to rid the nation of the menace of economic disparities, extortionist culture and class based education system.
Mehmood made these remarks while addressing a reception ceremony hosted in his honour by PPP central leader Sardar Zakir Shaheen advocate here on Thursday. The function was attended by Sardar Imtiaz Shaheen, Sardar Naseem Khan, Sardar Sajid Amin, Sardar Shehzad and RIBJA secretary Nisar Ahmed and others. Speaking on the occasion he said that political activists should fight against feudalism, industrialists and free themselves of the shackles of so-called dynastic politics in order to serve the common masses.
Sardar Zakir Shaheen advocate on the occasion said that Sardar Shoukat Mehmood’s election as RIBJA’s president was a matter of great honour and prestige for the people of Kashmir. He said that besides rendering his services in politics Mehmood has earned name and fame in the most challenging field of journalism in capital city Islamabad.
