Islamabad: A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader on Saturday filed a petition in the Supreme Court against National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
The petition seeking the court to dismissal of Chairman NAB Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal.
The petitioner is Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Japan chapter president Noor Ahmed Awan, it reads” chairman NAB and National accountability bureau should seek apology from Nawaz Sharif over the fake press release.
Awan in his petition contended that political leaders generally accuse their rivals for baseless allegations to secure their political goals, while NAB should avoid such moves to remain credible institutions.
He also argued that NAB issued press release against Nawaz Sharif for being involved in case sending US $ 4.9 billion dollars to India, while the State Bank of Pakistan already had rejected the report categorically in 2016.
The Petitioner argued that press release other incidents show that chairman NAB is not believable for the post. ‘NAB can’t do fair work under chairman NAB, the removal of chairman is inevitable,” it petition reads.
Awan asked the court to remove chairman NAB from his post and NAB bureau to seek apologize from Nawaz Sharif over bogus press release.
