ISLAMABAD: The disgruntle lawmakers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) who had been announced leaving the party have yet to submit their resignations at the National Assembly.
Sources at the National Assembly Secretariat said on Saturday that almost all the lawmakers who have been quit the PML-N are still handing the official matters in different capacities and receiving salaries and other incentives. The sources said that some departed lawmakers had participated in the recent National Assembly session to get
Some of the departed MNAs participated in the recent National Assembly session just to get TA-DA. The NA sources said none of the lawmaker from southern Punjab submitted resignation, despite their announcements.
Nisar Jatt and Raza Hayat, who had been joined the PTI, are regularly receiving their salaries and other incentives. Both of the lawmakers are still member of the National Assembly standing committee. The sources added that the names of both the lawmakers are also included in the list of PML-N at the National Assembly.
Similarly, PML-N ‘former lawmaker’ from southern Punjab Khusro Bukhtair has yet to submit his resignation and receiving salary and other incentives as PML-N lawmaker. Bukhtair is also handling affairs of the NA standing committee as chairman foreign affairs. He is also availing all government provided facilities, including official vehicles and staff.
Rana Qasim Noon, who has also been announced leaving the party, is as usual dealing his official affairs. He also didn’t submit his resignation yet.
Tahir Iqbal, who had joined the PML-N after wing the elections as an independent candidate and Tahir Bashir Cheema have yet to submit their resignations. Basit Bukhari is also availing perks and privileges as PML-N lawmaker despite announcement of leaving the party.
When the National Assembly spokesperson contacted he said none of the lawmaker who have quit the PML-N submit resignation at the National Assembly. He said as they submit their resignations, an investigation will be conducted to reconfirm their resignations. After that, the National Assembly will decide whether to accept their resignation or reject, adding the decision will be made after getting reconfirmation from the concerned lawmakers.
The spokesperson said that they would be asked whether their resignations were their own choice or someone else made announcement on their behalf. He said the resignations will only be accepted when they reconfirmed.
