ISLAMABAD: Care taker information minister Ali Zafar has said minorities enjoy equal rights in Pakistan as our constitution guarantees equal rights for them.
“ Minorities enjoy equal freedom in Pakistan as our constitution guarantees equal rights for them. It is also duty of government to serve the people honestly. Protecting the freedom of every citizens is obligation of the state”, he said this while addressing a seminar on rights of minorities and their religious rights in a local hotel here Tuesday.
He held that every religion teaches us the lesson of love, peace and security and no religion supports violence.
He underlined that no one is allowed to impose its will on others and it is incumbent on state to safeguard the freedom of every one. Discrimination against any one in the name of religion is cruelty, he added. Extremist activities in the name of any religion should not be allowed, he remarked.
He urged “ we will have to think beyond color, race and discrimination because terrorism was triggered at large scale in Pakistan after Afghan war and attempts were made to cause harm to all religions in terrorist activities.
