Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU was signed by the Ms. Fajer Pasha (Executive Director PAGE) and Mr. Shauzab Ali (Commissioner of Investor Education Department SECP). The ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qadir (Trustee PAGE and Chairman Taleem Foundation), Mr. Usman Khalid (Additional Director SECP), Ms. Madiha Naeem (Program Manager PAGE), Ms Tooba Akram (Assistant Director) and Ms. Maria Nida (Coordinator IED).
Under the banner of Jamapunji, both parties vow to collaborate in the ongoing financial literacy and investor awareness campaign which aims to create a concerted platform to promote financial education among students from primary to university level in Pakistan. Under the 26-point MOU, multiple activities such as competitions, lectures, seminars, and panel discussion for student will be conducted. The parties will expand its outreach by connecting with the students in far flung areas through webinars and video conferences.
The two organizations expressed their intention to cooperate within the scope of their mandates and sphere of competences to promote Girls Education and gender equity. The SECP will implement this collaboration within the framework of its new program where they will provide small trainings to the students on savings at a primary level.
The PAGE and SECP aim to develop programs of common interest to promote quality education and bridge the gap between gender education.
The PAGE attaches great importance to collaboration with the SECP, gaining yet another major partner in the effort to promote the ideals of the importance of education on a global scale.
